Cabot's Interior Varnish Stain is a premium, one-step product that makes wood finishing simple, combining the colour of a traditional wood stain with the protective sheen of a polyurethane top coat. A blend of traditional dyes and tinters in polyurethane, the colour can be built up by applying successive coats until you achieve the required strength of colour desired.

All shades are pre-packaged and available in gloss or satin finishes. Remember that water-based products are cooler in tone, whereas oil-based products have a more golden tone, which can continue to develop over time. Consider these variances when choosing the product ideal for your timber project.

• All colours shown have 2 coats applied on pine. All colours shown are as close to the actual colour as possible. There may be slight variations in colour.

Handy Hints

When the desired colour or transparency is achieved with one or two coats of varnish, finish the three-coat system with clear top coats. Eg: One coat varnish plus two coats clear = three-coat system

For fiddly, porous and hard to reach areas, seal first with Crystal Clear Satin (under Interior Varnish Stain) or Cabothane (under Stain & Varnish) to eliminate product ‘grabbing’ and building up.

Always stir contents thoroughly with a wide, flat bladed stirrer, such as a wooden ruler, before and during use. Do not shake cans as this action will aerate the contents and cause air bubbles in the coating. Stir with a scooping action.
