Interior Stains

Rich and highly workable timber stains for a premium finish made easy

Cabot's Interior Stain is a remarkably rich and workable pigmented finish that penetrates evenly into timber, even difficult to stain timbers such as Pine. It enhances the hidden beauty of the natural grain, character and texture of the timber. Once you have selected the colour, start with one application of stain and repeat until you achieve the intensity of colour desired. Interior Stain can be mixed up to 10% in the appropriate clear for a 'wash' of colour instead of a rich stain effect. Always finish your project with a clear finish to protect and enhance the grain - those marked in bold in the tables are the recommended clears, but you can choose another finish, achieving excellent results by following usage guidelines.

Handy Hints

1
When applying stain to carved or moulded areas, wipe your brush to remove the excess. This should stop pools of stain drying as dark patches around the moulding.

2
For the best results when using a penetrating stain, remove old stains, oils, paint or sealers by stripping and/or sanding back to bare timber first. Always test the stain first on a timber offcut.
