Cabot's Celebrating World Environment Day
Read time 5mins
To commemorate World Environment Day, Cabot's donates trees to Trees That Count. This initiative funds the planting of native trees around Aotearoa New Zealand.
Why we plant trees
Trees and forests are a crucial part of our planet's ecosystem. 100 native trees have the potential to remove 22 tCO₂e over 50 years of continuous growth. The Cabot's donation to Trees That Count to date have the potential to absorb over 4000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Also, trees form homes for our abundant native fauna and florals; they purify our air and water by absorbing pollution and stabilising soils. They have tremendous value for our environment and our wellbeing.
Besides enriching our lives, they form beautiful parts of our homes. Responsibly sourced timber is the world’s most sustainable building material and the only mainstream renewable source. It stores carbon and, when sourced responsibly, is infinitely available. The natural material has the ultimate extendable lifecycle with proper maintenance and protective coatings.
Why we plant trees
At Cabot’s, we are determined to take steps every day, big or small, that lead us to become the world's most climate positive woodcare brand. We strive to create the highest quality products to protect and nourish the timber in our lives with the least impact on the environment.
