Prepare

Before you get started, there are a few things you’ll need to do first – preparation is key!
Preparing the surface properly before you begin allows the oil to glide on smoothly for even coverage.

1
Remove Old Coatings

Use sandpaper or a paint stripper to thoroughly remove the existing coating from the timber surface.

2
Clean the Surface

Clean with Cabot’s Deck Clean following the instructions provided on the product label for best results.

1
Clean Thoroughly

Use Cabot’s Deck Clean to clean the timber surface completely, following the label instructions.

2
Perform Water Test

Sprinkle a small amount of water on the timber surface.

3
Assess the Result

If the water beads on the surface, the timber needs more sanding.

If the water soaks into the timber, it’s ready to be coated.

1
Sand the Timber

Sand back the surface to expose fresh wood.

2
Clean Thoroughly

Use Cabot’s Deck Clean to clean the surface and remove dust, dirt, and residue.

3
You're Good to Go

Once dried, your timber is ready for the next steps or use.

3

Apply

1
Stir Thoroughly

Use a broad, flat paddle to stir Cabot’s Aquadeck thoroughly before and during use.

2
Fill Holes and Imperfections

Use a suitable timber putty to fill any holes and surface imperfections before proceeding.

3
Apply with Deck Coat Applicator

Using the Cabot's Deck Coat Applicator, apply the product liberally along the length of each board, including exposed edges and the ends of each board.

4
Allow to Dry

After you’re finished applying, leave your deck to dry for one hour before applying a second coat. Too easy!

5
Enjoy!

And you’re done! Now all that’s left is to pull out those deck chairs, pour yourself a refreshing drink and get out into the sunshine.
