Trees That Count - Cabot’s Planting Day

On August 9th, Cabot’s New Zealand held their first Tree Planting Day in Wellington - a green initiative to grow native trees and better the planet. As part of the ‘Trees That Count’ project with Wellington City Council, we funded and supported the planting of 7,500 native trees into our beautiful Earth. Because Cabot’s don’t just care about preserving nature now, but well into the future, too.
What’s so important about planting native trees?
Tree planting is one of the simplest and most effective ways of tackling climate change. As exclusive partners to Trees That Count, our endeavours help restore forestation and build a healthier ecosystem. As trees grow, they remove carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. But there’s more: Did you know trees also reduce water pollution? This is because chemicals and pollutants from rain, which go into our rivers and sources of drinking water, get filtered out by tree roots. And of course, trees also provide shelter for some of our most beloved wildlife. Remember, we’re not just protecting our home!
Trees are pretty amazing - which is why we must do our best to protect them! And why we’re incredibly proud of the 7,500 native trees newly planted - and that is just the beginning.
How can I look after the environment and the timber in my home?

From the 20th of October 2023 to the 11th of December 2023, we’ll be running our ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Tree’ campaign again. All you need to do is purchase any 10 litres of Cabot’s exterior products, and we’ll fund the planting of a native tree. With your help, we can plant another 7,500 native trees and help save our precious environment!
