We want to play our part in supporting a sustainable future and positively impacting the planet our children will inherit. We’re committed to supporting reforestation and restoration programs as an official partner of Trees That Count, as well as responsibly sourced timber certification, and the enhancement of our products to give long-lasting protection.

We are committed to playing our part towards an eco-friendly, greener future and ensuring the generations to come enjoy the beauty of timber, just as we do.
One of the best eco-friendly ways to flight climate change and improve our environment is to plant more native trees. That's why we partnered with Trees That Count, and with your help, we were able to fund the planting of 15,000 native trees across Aotearoa New Zealand from 2022-2023.
Trees That Count matches our funded trees with local New Zealand planting groups that plant and care for these native trees. To date, we have supported over 20 planters helping create a healthier community and a more beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand.
Reducing Waste
Reducing waste from our supply chain and operations, through packaging optimisations and manufacturing process improvement. Through our Paint Take-Back service, we recycle, reuse or dispose of your leftover product in an environmentally friendly manner. Simply return your leftover Cabot’s product and packaging to any Dulux Trade Centre or selected Guthrie Bowron store nationwide, and we’ll take care of it, free of charge. We also focus on sustainable product initiatives such as; improving our formulations to make them more environmentally responsible, developing new products that last longer and reduce their impact on the environment, and reformulating to meet certifications like Green Star.

Some of Cabot’s products are licensed with Eco Choice Aotearoa, a Type 1 eco-labeling company with regulations administered by the New Zealand eco-labeling trust to certify products that adhere to up-to-date standards for environmental compliance in business. These products have undergone independent verification, confirming low VOC levels. Eco Choice Aotearoa designates products and services that prioritise environmental friendliness, safety for both you and your family, and suitability for their intended use. We are proud to say Cabot’s Deck & Exterior Stain Water Based (colour range Kowhai, Charcoal, Redwood, Driftwood, Merbau), Cabot’s Aquadeck (colour range Amber, Burnt Walnut, Kwila), Cabot’s CFP Floor Water Based and Cabot’s Garden Furniture Oil (colour Natural) are eco-choice licensed.
