Cabot's Supporting Sustainability
Timber for Life
One of the most impactful ways to combat climate change is by planting native trees. Since 2022, Cabot’s has proudly partnered with Trees That Count, helping fund the planting of thousands of native trees across New Zealand. These trees are matched with local planting groups who nurture them, contributing to healthier communities and a more vibrant natural landscape.
To date, we’ve supported over 25 planting groups, and we’re excited to continue growing this initiative.
Reducing Waste
We’re actively reducing waste across our supply chain and operations through smarter packaging and improved manufacturing processes. Our Paint Take-Back service makes it easy for you to dispose of leftover product and packaging sustainably.
Here’s how it works:
Return leftover Cabot’s products to any Dulux Trade Centre or selected Guthrie Bowron store nationwide. We’ll recycle, reuse, or dispose of it free of charge.
Green Initiatives
Small changes can make a big impact, and as part of our ongoing commitment towards becoming a more green, sustainable business, we’ve created packaging that is more eco-friendly. Our 10L plastic pails are made from 20% regrind (recycled) material in both the pail and lid.
When pails are collected via the Paint Take-Back initiative, they are broken down into plastic pellets (regrind) which are then used in the making of new pails. It’s one way we’re reducing waste across our product’s lifecycle.
Just like the rest of our pails, these new pails are still 100% recyclable through the Paint Take-Back initiative. It’s an eco-friendly, continuous cycle.
